Well, I am a Latin American who will be traveling to Argentina this holiday season to meet with my friends and family. Just like me, I am sure there are going to be millions of people who will be traveling across the continents to meet their friends and family.
This is the time when the real test will begin – flights, trains, buses, and roads.
I settled in Seattle back in 2008, and I have been traveling back and forth to and from the US during the same Holiday season.
I know how fussy it can be if you don’t know what to do when traveling during the Holidays. But you don’t need to worry because I will be sharing the tips that I have been implementing for years to make my traveling hassle-free during this season.
If that sounds interesting, let’s cut to the chase and dive right into the tips.
Book Flights and Rent Cars as Early as Possible
As I mentioned earlier, millions of people will be traveling at the same time during the Holiday season. So, you need to be a step ahead of them. Well, how do you do that? That I will explain.
The first thing you should do is to book your flights as early as possible. The ideal time to book a flight is at least a month before your departure. So, if you have that much time right now, just go into the flight booking apps and book it right away.
Just make sure to use a reliable internet connection to book your favorite seat. I use Xfinity Internet for all my digital tasks. It is one of the best internet providers in the US that offers affordable plans, reliable connectivity, and top-notch network security. If you want to explore more about its plans, feel free to reach out to Xfinity servicio al cliente en Español.
On top of booking your flight, you should make sure that your car is rented on time. Again, a lot of people will be using the same service, and you would want to jump in earlier because everything is messed up.
So, yeah, book your flights on time and book your cars on time as well.
For travelers who want to avoid long drives or crowded roads during peak holiday periods, using a Car Delivery Service Manchester can make travel planning smoother by ensuring your vehicle is transported safely while you focus on enjoying the journey.
Do Not Wrap Your Gifts and Try to Place Them in Your Carry-On
I learned it the hard way, and I don’t want you to learn it the hard way.
I have had to face the hassles countless times to show the airport personnel my presents. The only problem was that they were wrapped for the sake of safety. But people at the airport won’t understand this. If your presents are wrapped, they might stop you while checking in, or if they miss it somehow, they might ask you to unwrap them.
So, the point is, instead of wrapping them in 3-4 layers, don’t. Use another method that will show what that thing you are talking about is as a present. This tip will not just save you from the hassle, but you’ll save time as well.
Arrive at the Airport at Least 2 Hours Before Your Flight
Airports during the Holiday season feel like they’re distributing free gold out there. It is packed with people. If you want to have a relaxed departure experience, make sure to arrive early.
If you had arrived half an hour ago, you wouldn’t have found a free bench, let alone access to the lounge. On top of that, there is the risk of missing your flight if you arrive at the exact time because it is an airport, and things can go south.
What I do is pack my luggage and stuff a day ago, and then I will have plenty of time before departure. This gives me peace of mind and access to the lounge.
So, yeah, you should execute this tip as well for a hassle-free traveling experience.
Know the Rules
Oh, this one is important. Every airline has a different set of rules about things you can carry in your luggage. Also, the airports might have different rules on the exact same thing.
For example, I was traveling on the Turkish airline, and they asked me about the batteries of my drone even though it was turned off. The problem was with the lithium-ion battery. They generally ask to put such batteries in a fireproof bag, but you can alternatively discharge them before flying off.
The point here is that you need to understand the rules and abide by them to avoid inconvenience.
To wrap this topic up, the last thing I want to say is be flexible. While traveling, things are not ideal. So, you need to be flexible and prepared.
